Not only is this a lovely book to look at, it is a pleasure to read. Author Sara Perry combines her penchant for research, testing and detail with her calm, gracious writing style. A read through of her herbal tea book is a soothing adventure. Brew a fragrant cuppa and enjoy. Next year, enjoy tea made from the herbs and recipes Sara inspires us to create!

David Perry's photos are very moving. Strong imagery caputured gently. Great text, great concept. Well done. I loved the last book these guys did as well so I am not suprised.

As a beginner to C++, I enrolled in a local Tech College Program. I exhausted their library resources and bought almost every available C++ book at my local Barnes & Noble, Waldenbook Store and Books A Million. I ran accross a copy of Potts and Monk's book on a discount table at Books A Million (won't reveal price of course) and began to read, then used the source codes, which were well written and explained in a more comprehensable manner than other references. The 3 levels of examples were down to earth and more real than those in other reference books. This book has earned a distinct place in my ever-growing collection of reference materials. A people must be understood in light of their history and Mr. Perry educates us and helps us understand the Black evangelical church in full light of their African AND African American experience. I've never put together the African American's African "roots" and how elements and roles have been carried over into practice in their history and the practice of their faith in the Americas to this present day. Books like Mr. Perry's are slowly but SURELY eroding my racial ignorance (that I never knew I had) as a white male in a multiracial society. For a relatively short book, a lot of ground is covered and covered well. I felt I was left a bit more enlightened and less prone to misunderstand my African American brothers and sisters. The first step in curing racism is admitting we posses it in varying degress and then seek a cure. Dwight Perry's "Breaking Down Barriers" is a recommended step to cure the disease of racism, especially for us "good white Christian folk"

I am a cousin of Mr. Goodfriend and I have known him all my life. Many of the people in the pictures in this book are relatives of mine. Thus, my opinion may appear biased. However, I read a lot and feel that I am capable of recognizing a well-written piece of art. This book is stunning in its honesty and compelling in its depiction of Mr. Goodfriend's inner struggles. His brilliance shines through every page of this book.

The easiest book to read and understand of any programming language I have read.

When Lindbergh bounced to an landing before a surging throng in Paris, his heroic effort to cross the Atlantic by airplane was already world wide news.

But in 1911, Cal Rodgers, a student of the Wright Brothers, undertook a perhaps even more momentous flight, the first man to fly across North America and exposed an incredulous country to the utility of the airplane. Rodger did so in a Wright EX, a special version of the Model B Flyer. He was sponsored by the Vin Fizz softdrink company, and tossed calling cards for discounts to the winds as he flew above towns and cities. The flight of the Vin Fiz blazed the trail for the commercial use of airplanes and showed a awestruck public that the machine had endless possibilites.

Eileen LeBow recreates this incredible flight with clarity and excitement. Through three months and 19 crashes, LeBow traces Rodgers route and that of the Vin Fizz Special, the special train that followed and supported the flight. The account includes details of Rodgers death in his plane in California following his celebrity-making success.

If you love aviation, this is the guy you should know more about. LeBow's book does a great job in applying the right mix of fact and adventurous narrative.

Amazingly funny stories of growing up in a British Borading School in the Himalayas in the 1950s. I found the characters wonderful, the stories extremely well written, and the plots very entertaining. They reminded me of my own time at a borading school in England in the 60s. A delight. Especially good reading if you're feeling under the weather. Switch off the T.V. and curl up with Capers!

"Carolyn's Story" is a wonderful children's book and excellent resource book for anyone who has considered or experienced adoption. The book share's a young Honduran girl's very real world experiences, emotions and thoughts about being an integral part of an adoptive family. This book certainly gives a high sense of hope for adoption demonstrating that a family can mean many things and is not required to be "typical" to be great. The photos are sincere and very colorful.
